Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP)
Background & Brief
The CILIP annual event is split into a full exhibition, and a main plenary conference with multiple breakout sessions. We have worked with CILIP for many years, traveling around the UK with them to a wide range of exciting venues. The 2015 Conference took us to St George’s Hall in Liverpool, a Grade 1 listed building stooped in history.
Delivery
CILIP’s pre event comms are second to none, and by show week Jason and his team had ensured that we had all information, presentations and programs for the conference. We had completely redesigned the CILIP exhibition stand, which worked well taking up one end of the exhibition hall, offering central point for all attendees to network with the CILIP team through the event. The client brief had requested a branded stage set as a focal point in the main plenary. However, due to the detailed design and historical nature of the Concert Room we had to take a different approach when designing the conference projection, lighting and rigging, to ensure the final result exceeded the client expectations while working in the space and being sympathetic to the exceptional architecture.
Result
All elements of the event worked seamlessly together, and well within the various halls, suites and courtrooms that they were situated in. The challenge of a venue that wasn’t purpose built was an enjoyable one, and encouraged our team to be flexible with how they best designed and delivered the various elements.
